MBA
For school in Australia and Canada, with six schools moving up against only two moving down. For the Melbourne Business School, the best placed school from Asia Pacific at 33 , and Montreal's McGill- Desautels that enters the ranking at 64, this is in part a reflection of the strength of their economies, and the diverse career opportunities enjoyed by their graduates.
How much should we read into the results of MBA ranking ? Each ranking uses a different methodology , and weighs the use of different data to produce their league tables, so it is important for candidates to understand what is being measured. Given that the methodology of each ranking is subjective in its choice of criteria , the results should never be the most influential factor when identifying the right school for you . The personality of the institution , course length, location , and other personal aspects are key to finding the right fit. The differnce between a school ranked 25 or 35 is probably not that great they will both offer you a world class , the results might be reversed when looking at a different league table it all depends on what is being measured, and what matters to you. But what happens when you take all the rankings collectively ?
Given that only two of the major full time MBA rankings the FT and The Economist directly compare business schools from around the world, candidates should ideally use the comparison with caution. Only the US business schools are ranked by all five media, and both Forbes and Business Week only a limited number of Non - US business schools. Therfore schools should be separated into four regions US, EUROPE , CANADA , AND AISA PACIFIC and the overall performance should be calculated by looking at the ranking position with in each region, and taking an average of those results based on the number of rankings in which the schools appear.
